- Title:
- A historical survey of logic of questions and answers
- Abstract:
-
Logic of questions and answers has appeared in the early twentieth
century, developed from the 1950s. It aims to analyze logical
properties of questions and answers together with presuppositions of
questions. This paper surveys the history of the research area. From
the authors in the first period of conceptual analysis, Belnap,
Aqvist, and Hintikka among others are argued. The second period of
implementation to formal logic and applications to natural languages
consists of roughly four approaches toward questions: questions as
n-ary relations, intensional logic, situation semantics, and dynamic
approach.
